Learn GoldSim at Your Own Pace
... perhaps the best online tutorial/training I have ever seen across any model/software platform.Charles Ikenberry, FYRA Engineering
GoldSim provides two free, self-paced training Courses. These are the best way to learn GoldSim.
These Courses are quite detailed, and each will likely require up to a week to complete (if you work straight through). However, the Courses are organized into Units and Lessons, so you can easily take them at your own pace.
These are “hands-on” Courses. That is, while you are taking them, you are expected to simultaneously use the software (i.e., with the Course on one side of the screen and GoldSim on the other). In each Course, we use almost 60 simple Exercises and Examples to help you learn how to use the software. Moreover, the Courses are linked throughout to a web-based version of the Help system, so you can immediately dive into reference documentation to explore any topic in more detail.
- Introduction to GoldSim. This Course is intended to provide you with an introduction to probabilistic, dynamic simulation using GoldSim. This Course covers all the key features of GoldSim required for you to start building complex models. Although the Course was primarily designed for those who are new to GoldSim, existing GoldSim users are also likely to find many parts of the Course to be of value.
- Using the GoldSim Contaminant Transport Module. This describes how to use the Contaminant Transport (CT) Module, a program extension to GoldSim that allow you to simulate the release, transport and fate of mass (e.g., contaminants) within complex engineered and/or natural environmental systems. The Course also includes optional units on the use of the Radionuclide Transport (RT) Module, an expanded version of the CT Module that includes features (e.g., chain decay) for modeling the transport of radionuclides. This Course assumes that you are already familiar with the basic GoldSim framework (e.g., have taken the Introduction to GoldSim Course).
