Editing Wiki Articles - Guidelines and Templates
Editing Existing Pages
To edit existing articles, click on Edit button at the top of the page or next to headers. You may start editing articles in the Content editor. Before saving the change, make sure that the code is correct by viewing the page using Visual or Preview tabs. Add comments for the change underneath Meta Information.
Discussing an Article
To post a message discussing an article, click on the Discuss button at the top of the page. Then click Post Message and add your message. NOTE: Discussions are intended to discuss changes that have been made (or you would like to make) to the article. They are not intended to be a forum for exchanging ideas and posting and answering questions. You should use the GoldSim Forum for that.
Adding a New Article

- Click "Create a new Page" from the Navigation Box on the left side of the page.
- Specify a Page Title.
- By default, the Page Name (which is used to reference the page) is a modified version of the Title (spaces are removed). If the Page Title is long, however, you should press "Specify page name manually... " and manually specify the Page Name.
- Use the content editor to create the article contents, using the template below as a guideline. (Note special instructions for adding a Model Library, Knowledge Base, or Icon Library article below.)
- Use H2 for the title header and H3 and H4 for sub-headers.
- Include hyperlinks to Related Topics, Model Library and Knowledge Base articles.
- Use the Visual and Preview tabs to make sure that your code is working before saving the page.
- Select the approriate Page Categories for the article. If you don't see any appropriate Categories, create a new Category.
- Add Meta information and comments for the change.
- After the page is complete, search the GoldSim Wiki globally for related keywords, and create hyperlinks from other articles to your page if appropriate.
